Welcome to a lesson page. Here is a weekly lesson with different things to do daily for your toddler. 
These Lessons are designed to teach your toddler with play and fun. There are new things to learn daily and weekly. Lesson set up: Flash cards, food, coloring pages, subjects with: lesson, games, activity, crafts, and books. Look at all of the lessons the week before so you can work them in. There is minimal prep work.

Animal day
Lesson- What colors are the animals? How many legs they have? What do  they eat? Which animal is bigger and smaller? It can be dessert, rain forest, arctic etc. Animal coloring sheets that show spelling, tracer page that says all the different animals. Sing Old MacDonald had a farm. You can do this day with Pets, African Animals, Arctic Animals etc
Special event- Go to the zoo, centennial farm is free, reptile stores, pet store, La Habra children's museum has a animal room.
Craft- Brown paper bag animal puppets.
Game- Name that animal , take turns making animal noises and the other person says what animal you were being. Another version is using books or flash cards show the flash card and make the noise or make the noise and find the flash card.

Art day
Lesson- Use crayons to do math and counting. Use paint to explorecolor make your own colors. Use different pain brushes and talk about which ones are bigger and smaller. If you have two different size crayons (Jumbo and regular) use them to do patterns. Make a pattern first (two small crayons one big crayon) and them ask them to
finish with all the crayons.

Game- Match the art tool. Use paint brushes, crayons, pencils, pens and what ever else you have. Scatter them on the table and have your child find the match. If you have a young toddler use only three items and help them do it. 
Craft- Painting, drawing, chalk art, canvas painting, clay, apple print painting (cut an apple in half and make prints with it). How to make different colors (use a color wheel) What happens when you add white to your paint? 
Special activity- Art museum. The Getty has a great children's program. Family paint day, get the whole family to do a paintingtogether.
Book- The jumbo book of 
Art. Sunflowers & Swirly stars,the art book for Children. 

Ant day
Lesson- What is and ant? What color are ants? Where do you find them? Do ants have big families? Talk about what they like or don't like about ants.
Game- Ant balance. Use tupperwear. Turn it so the top it facing down and tape ant picture to it. Tell your kids that ants can hold a lot of things on their back even though they are so small. Gather books and other items to place on the tupperware ant and see how much it can hold.
Activity- Ant walk. Take a walk and look for ants.
Craft- Egg cartoon ant craft.
Books- Ant Cities, The Little Red Ant and the Great Big Crumb. 

Adventure 
Lesson- Letter A. Big A and little a. Show which is big and which is little. Have a few different A cut outs so they can match them up.
Game- Big A little a. Use capital and lower case A's. Get 2 bowls and tape one to each bowl. Then show your child an A cut out one at a time and let them put it in the correct bowl.
Activity- Have an adventure. Make a map. Ex. Over the hill, around the tree, past the flowers to.... If you are going to the park make one to get there. You can make one for around the house at the end of the map can lead to the craft. Don't forget to take your time and have a true adventure.
Craft- Let your child make there own map.
Books- Choose your child's favorite books.

Other activities for A day
I spy A's- Go around your house and see what A's you
can find, maybe tapping A's that you make around the
house would help. Ex- shampoo bottles in bathroom, 
food in kitchen,books in kids rooms, street signs out side.

Dig for A's- Painted A's on rocks are perfect for digging up
in the sand! Treasure maps would be fun for older kids.
